first SLR shoot in Chicago

Last weekend Jake and I went to Chicago because he was attending a workshop. Of course I wasn't going to pass up this opportunity to take pictures. I'm sure that it's not a surprise that I love photographing cities and was excited to use my Rebel for the first time there. Here are just a few of my photo highlights. Enjoy.

While Jake was at his workshop on Saturday, I spent most of the day with my mom and one of my uncles. One of the first things that we did downtown was check out a photography exhibit at Columbia by this photographer. Go check her out. You won't be disappointed.

My uncle.

My uncle took these last two pictures at Dominican University, which is where Jake got his undergrad degree. Do you remember this Dominican frame that we got over the summer? Most of my pictures from Dominican are from 2007 or earlier, and I really wanted something more current for it. But we don't get down that way very often these days. Lately when I hand my camera to someone else, the pictures we get of us as a couple are...not frame worthy (I'm being nice) so it was amazing to have this opportunity.

Now I just have to get it printed! But we're one more step of the way there at least.
