Friday feature: dotted lamp work

I had so much fun with my dotted leafy feature that I decided to do a dotted lamp work feature.  I got carried away with this one.  It's considerably longer than my features normally are. Many of you reading this enjoy beads just as much as I do so I didn't think that anyone would mind.  Enjoy!

April EtsyBloggers Featured Seller

The EtsyBloggers featured seller for April is Linda (lindab142).  Linda is a great teammate and a wonderful blogger.  I like her Etsy shop, but I really love her blog.  (You can find her on Twitter, too.)  Linda goes out of her way to feature other great Etsians and to relay tips and advice.  She gives us a peak into her personal life and works in progress and shares other thoughts about her crafty endeavors.  She also does a weekly Top Etsy Finds post.  Blog readers can vote for their favorite find.  The winner gets an interview on her blog.  I've enjoyed getting to know her the past few years.

Here are a few neat finds from her shop.

(almost) Wordless Wednesday

I can't believe that I hadn't posted this picture of Angel yet.  I took this a few weeks ago.  We've had these desk chairs almost a year.  In the last month, she's decided that this is one of her favorite places to sit.  Specifically, she likes to sit with her head touching or almost touching one of the wheels.  One of these days, one of us is going to almost roll her over (unintentionally of course), but until then, it's a fun little game.

And I have a new crafty hub up: 10 Color Combinations That Every Artist Should Attempt.  I haven't posted this here before in any form whatever so head on over there to check it out.

a new way to wear it

I have a little confession to make.  I've been wearing the two new blue/purple rock garden bracelets a lot since I finished them earlier this month.  Yep, I made two, and I've been wearing both of them.  Together.

I love how you can position the looped part wherever you want when you wear the bracelets this way.

Usually I can position it on top as I did in the first photo, but you can slide it down toward the buttons if you want.

These buttons are from my Christmas stash.

In case anyone hasn't already figured this out, I simply connect the two bracelets with one clasp, loop the two bracelets around my wrist, and fasten the other bracelet.  If someone buys one on Etsy (or is interested in one in person), then I will part with this part of this lovely set, but for now, I'm still really enjoying it.  And I may get inspired to experiment with more "double editions" like this in the future.

Also, I put a new recipe up on HubPages last night: Homemade Hummus and Other Bean Dip Variations.

jade returns

As soon as I thought of that title, I kept thinking Return of the Jedi.  Moving on from my dorkiness...last night I listed the jade piece that I first posted in my gemstone blog carnival post last month.

It's available here.  It was really tough to find a good coordinating background color for the jade chips.  They look all right against the white and music backgrounds, but they're better against the gray.  The tan seed beads still look harsh next to them.  You'll have to trust me that the beads and chips coordinate perfectly in person.  I won't go into much more detail about this piece since I talked about it in the gemstone post.  But it's a great little piece.  It's very light weight and versatile. You can dress this up or down for any occasion.  I don't have any more specific plans for jade right now, but I'm sure that I will return to it at some point.  For now, you can also check out the other jade piece that I have currently available here.

I linked this post to Erika's Creative Friday Features and Link Party post.
