1. Food
One of my newest original recipes is homemade mozzarella pesto pizza. (I actually used four cheeses for the pictured version but there is more mozzarella than anything else.) Jake and I had a pizza similar to this during our DC vacation in August that was amazing and wanted to do it ourselves. The first time I made it, it was very good. The second time I made it, it was amazing. I'm so proud of myself. I made one all cheese pizza (which you can see here) and one half Italian sausage/half chicken pizza. I would like to try a half veggie one next time.
2. Purple
Here's s sneak peak at one of the new pieces for my 2012 herringbone line. Whenever I ask for color suggestions, purple is almost always one of the choices. This is for all of you who love purple. And as always, purple is so hard to photograph. The balance is pretty good here, but the colors are even more vibrant in person.
3. In Disguise
Nope, I did not take any photos of anyone in Halloween costumes this year. That would have been the perfect subject for this theme. I don't actually think of make up as disguise but I had no other ideas for this prompt. At the show I did in October, I won a $15 gift certificate and consultation from Mary K. I made a couple purchases. This was one of them. I love how you can reorder only the colors that you need from it when you need them.
4. Shapes
You've seen a lot of the new buttons that I bought this fall in my button pin, magnet, and tack photos the last month or so. Most of these new buttons are from 3 sets. I bought an addition 2 sets that I haven't even cracked yet. These shape buttons are from one of them. Aren't they fun? Many of them are too big or weirdly shaped for my jewelry designs (although the smaller circles would make good clasp buttons), but they will be perfect for pins and magnets. I most likely won't have any of these done for my second fall show, but I'll have them for my 2012 shows.
5. Photographer's Choice
Angel broke her kitty bed on purpose before we moved to Milwaukee. She has further "perfected" the bed since then by pushing the blanket up in the front and leaning fully on the broken back. The lesson here is: If something isn't the way you want it, take the initiative to make a change yourself.
I wanted to include one more photo of her from the front in her box, as that side pose isn't the most flattering. Don't you love how the front of the box tips up when she sits this way? And yes, that wall socket is upside down. We have a few like that in our house.
Originally I was going to use this photo of Angel for this prompt before I got inspired by the box pose so I'm still sharing it here, too.
Please check out Ashley's blog to see what other people photographed for these themes this week!
Love the bracelet - it looks blue on my screen. I am one of those purple lovers - so difficult to gauge the actual shade in photos...
ReplyDeleteThe pizza looks good! Purple is extremely hard to photograph and always looks blue. It's frustrating!
ReplyDeleteAngel is so cute! Her bed looks very comfy!
I like pizza and could eat it for breakfast.

Yum- that pizza looks great!!! And I love your new bracelet- I thought it was blue. Colors are tricky digitally!
ReplyDeleteI love the box poses! ha ha! Angel is one smart kitty! (cute, too!)
ReplyDeleteThe pizzas look scrumptious! Do tell us what cheeses you used! Your new bracelet design looks great! Perfect photo for in disguise!
Splendid Little Stars

For Love of Cupcakes
the upside down sockets should be the main ones connected to the swithes in that room only one per room.
ReplyDeleteThe pesto pizza looks yummy - care to share a recipe at some point?
ReplyDeletePurple + glass = anything but the color it is. Not quite as bad as photographing shiny silver while wearing anything but black, but close!
That's one smart kitty - if you can't get the hired help to do it for you, do it yourself!
Fun post :)
Angel is pretty clever. I love pizza, but not sure about pesto.
ReplyDeleteThe purple bracelet is fab!
Dear Rose, Thank you for sharing all of those photo's. I loved it. The pizza sounds delish! I also like your 2012 collection. It is very sophisticated. Angel is adorable. My little dog fixes his bed the way he likes it too. It never looks very comfortable though. Have a blessed evening. Catherine xo
ReplyDeletenice to see Angel. Looks like she's making herself at home. Congrats. on your cooking and herringbone bracelet! {:-D
ReplyDeleteYour cat looks like a lot of fun. Overall great set of photos.
ReplyDeleteNicely done - I really like your purple and sweet kitty.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! Love the kitty - she looks a lot like my Oreo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I love to make my own pizza too. I tried one in a restaurant and came home and tried to make it and I finally got something that I really like. It has ranch dressing instead of pizza sauce and I use broccoli, and chopped tomatoes for a filling. Oh yah, and mozzarella!
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is beautiful! That's a fun thing to start for 2012.
Angel is a sweetie! Looks so snuggly in her box. Why are black cats so hard to photograph? All the other cats photograph so well but when I take a pic of Punky, she looks like a big blob!
Give Angel extra snuggles today and tell her how pretty she is.
Angel is quite creative with her bed. My cats don't use the cat bed I bought them long ago - they prefer to lounge on the Super Scratcher box that long ago lost it's shape but they love it and still fight over who gets to lay on it, especially when it has fresh nip on it.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of your cat! Oh . . and thanks for re-tweeting my sale! I appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteHow funny that your cat knows enough to change her environment to suit herself--that's what we try to teach the kids in the Destination ImagiNation program for which I volunteer. As always, I enjoy the photos you generate for your scavenger hunt.
