One of the classic activities in the Midwest during the fall is going to an apple orchard. I went to Apple Holler way at the beginning of this fall where I actually did pick apples (remember my apple pie?). More recently I went to Aamodt's Apple Farm and St. Croix Vineyards during my trip to Minneapolis where I did not pick more apples but enjoyed delicious wine samples and took in the beautiful grounds on a lovely fall day with some of my favorite people. I'm sharing a few of my pictures from that excursion. Enjoy.
Has anyone else been apple picking or just enjoying time at an apple orchard this fall?
Looks like a great day to be outside! And any day is a good day for wine tasting :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Fall day! We haven't enjoyed anything apple-y yet this year. I love fresh apple cider so will have to look for some!
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I'd been picking apples! I miss fresh apples. I love the goat picture. Goats are so funny!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't do any apple picking, though we keep meaning to go! I love the Midwest in the fall. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love trips to apple orchards! It's the best place to people watch as well. I love seeing kids having so much fun out in nature and running around laughing. Who can't be happy at an apple orchard? Wine tasting is also one of my favorite things to do! It's nice to get to taste different types and brands without buying the whole bottle or even a glass. I always buy the souvenir glass too when they have them, if it's not already included.
ReplyDeleteAlso enjoy your post below. Caturday is a fun day! The boys are as handsome as always.
I love to go to the farm festivals with my daughter's family at pumpkin time! the apple cider is awesome and I love the crisp weather! Looks like you had an awesome time too!
