summer floral show at the Mitchell Park Domes

Last week I made a brief stop at the Mitchell Park Domes to check out the summer floral show: Practically Perfect in Every Way. The conservatory has three domes, one of which they switch out with different exhibits a few times a year. It's always fun to visit the permanent exhibits and then check out the newest attraction in the show dome.

at the Michell Park Domes with the 100mm

As I mentioned last month, I have the opportunity to borrow a 100mm Canon lens for free this summer. I've been primarily interested in a macro lens for my product photography. In the past few weeks, I've already confirmed that it makes a huge difference when I'm photographing jewelry in my light box. While I'm borrowing this lens, I'm also making an effort to get out and photograph with it during little excursions around Milwaukee to determine how much other use I would get out of owning said lens. Last Monday Jake and I went to the Mitchell Park Domes, which was a great place to work with it.

photo share: Mitchell Park Domes

Because no one is tired of seeing floral scenes this time of year, right? I didn't think so. These are just a few of my favorite shots from a little trip to the Domes last month.

I've got some more pictures from this outing over here.

Y is for Yellow

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

I got inspired to look for yellow for this post during an excursion to the Mitchell Park Conservatory Domes last month. Enjoy.

Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for the letter Y this week right here!
