a favorite early sign of spring

We don't need to talk about the fact that it snowed in the Midwest this week (and no, it didn't stick around for very long at least). Instead we'll talk about the fact that plants are starting to bloom! Even though it won't be really green for another month or so, it's so exciting to start seeing little shoots everywhere. Our front bushes start blooming in mid-March, and it always makes me happy to see those buds.

celebrating early spring

Ever since the weather switched into spring mode, I've been thinking about all things spring.

photo share: Big Bay Park

Earlier this month I got inspired to check out a new to me spot in Milwaukee, thanks to a couple of Instagram shots. There are little parks and beaches all along Lake Michigan spanning Milwaukee and beyond, many of which I have yet to visit. I got to cross one more off my list, though. This is such a neat spot that I'm sure that I'll be back. Enjoy.

Lake Geneva birthday excursion

Jake and I took a little trip to Lake Geneva at the end of March for my birthday. One of the many things that I love about where we live is that there are beautiful, interesting places to take trips just an hour or two away that don't break the bank. Lake Geneva is a great option. It was great to get away during the week for my birthday and take in the area before it gets flooded with tourists. Enjoy.
