I'm Not a Pilot at Regner Park

As many of you know, just one of the numerous fun things to do in Milwaukee during the summer is listen to live music, often for free and outdoors. While I've heard a number of bands here over the past few years, most often I'm checking out an event because I'm Not a Pilot is there. The inaugural Homegrown festival at Regner Park in West Bend, WI last month was no exception.

Does anyone else like to get out and listen to live music during the summer?

I is for I'm Not a Pilot

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

If you've been following this blog the past couple years, you've probably already heard me talk about this local band I'm Not a Pilot that kind of became one of my favorite bands overnight a year and a half ago. If you haven't already checked out the website, get over there and listen to some of their music. You can listen via their YouTube channel. Today I'm sharing photos from their performances at Chill on the Hill and Summerfest this summer.

Select members of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra performed with them at Summerfest.

You can also see just a few of the photos that I took of I'm Not a Pilot last summer here and here.

Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for the letter I this week right here!

just one of the reasons that I love summer

A couple years ago I put together a why I love summer post. One of the things that I did not talk about in that post was outdoor concerts. Milwaukee has amazing support for all types of art and is home to an abundance of outdoor concerts from local park series to Summerfest. A couple weeks ago, my brother's band Hood Smoke played Jazz in the Park.

Last year Hood Smoke played Summerfest! Check out the photos over here.

Finally, on the subject of summer, last year I complied my summer photography tips. If you're like me and you get out and shoot as much as possible during the warm months, check it out.
