on the golf course
Of course I was taking pictures, not golfing. Surprise, right? One of my favorite places to walk and take pictures in the area is Greenfield Park. During one of my recent excursions there, I wandered through the golf course for the first time. Honestly I had never wandered through a golf course before. It was a fun experience and a great challenge for a familiar area.

What's Up For August
Yep, we're several days into August, and I'm still a little bit in denial about that. Moving forward...
What's going on this month?
- I hit a huge milestone on HubPages the first week of August: 1 million views. It took me 2 years and 4 months to achieve this stat. To date I have 286 articles published there. I am really proud of many of the things I've been able to accomplish these last couple years with my freelance career, but this is definitely way up there on that list.
- I've been staying ahead of my ambitious task list for opening a new Etsy shop for photography on Labor Day weekend 2013. This month is going to be the final push. I'm planning a huge giveaway to kick things off for the grand opening so get excited about that.
- I've been part of a product descriptions writing group off and on since December and I got to write for a handful of huge orders for that this past month, which played a large role in July being my highest earning freelance month to date. I've had a steady stream of work from additional clients, too, which didn't hurt either. I'm looking forward to using some of those funds for new photography equipment and some of the supplies I need (i.e. new business cards, packing materials) for the new Etsy shop.
- I am still fully enjoying everything that summer has to offer and am determined to use this month to soak up as much of it as I can. I've ticked off quite a few of the "to do" destinations / random pursuits on my summer photography list and am determined to fit in a few more while the weather is still great. Jake and I have some fun social activities planned as well as a mini long weekend trip.

Saturday is Caturday
Are you ready to start the weekend with another round of amazing kitten photos?
Sheets and blankets are good for hours of entertainment.
Still enjoying the water bed.
Still enjoying the newest Ann Taylor Loft shopping bag. Yes, one kitten is biting the other kitten. It's all in good fun.
Lately neither kitten needs an excuse to jump in the bathtub and play with all of the rubber ducks at pretty much any time.
My ever present computer helper Apollo.
The back foot kills me every time.
Jake keeps saying that the Styrofoam pieces are like little kitty couches.
Apollo watching Sad Cat Diary with the two of us and a friend. He hadn't been that interested in anything on TV in months. Something about the cats really kept him watching.
Jake has also taken some amazing cat pictures the past month.
Apollo likes "helping" Jake on the computer just as much as he likes helping me. Jake's computer desk is bigger than mine, which just means that it has even more helping possibilities.
You can't make up these poses.
Just like a little person. Priceless.

K is for Kittens
Happy August!
Get out and enjoy every minute of this month because it is going to go way too quickly.

I take a lot more pictures of my cats with my phone than my SLR. When cats are doing something cute or funny, it's not likely that they'll still be doing it by the time you grab your camera. You have to get that shot NOW. So I do. Those shots are usually what I share on my blog. But every once in a while, I get a great set with the SLR. If you're friends with me on Facebook, that's usually what you see there.
I'm sharing one of my newest kitten SLR sets today. My brother stayed over with us at the end of June. As I mentioned previously, it completely renewed the kittens' interest in our spare bed, our old water bed. They've been hanging out there enough the past few weeks that I've been able to grab some awesome SLR shots. Enjoy.
