custom button order

Over the weekend, I completed a couple of custom pieces for a lovely Etsy buyer.  She saw a couple designs in my shop and wanted longer versions of them.  Here they are.

She was very pleased with the pictures.  Hopefully she'll be just as pleased (if not more so) with the results in person.  I'm very happy with them, too.  The original versions as well as the other pieces in my button embellished line (along with the pattern for it) are available in my Etsy shop here.

Also, these are some of the first pictures that I've taken with my light box since I set it up again, which involved changing the lighting angle slightly.  I think that it's working out really well.

daydreaming

I've started hinting to Jake that I want another ring for our 5th wedding anniversary.  I know what some of you are thinking: Didn't you just have your 4th anniversary?  Yes.  But there's nothing wrong with thinking ahead.  As I'm sure you can tell from any of my "modeling" pictures here, I have skinny wrists and fingers.  My wedding ring is a custom size so this ring will be, too, if I want to wear it on one of my ring fingers.  I have this wedding ring (which has gone up a scary amount of money since Jake bought it a little over five years ago).

I want something else that is yellow gold, but with at least one stone (I'm thinking aquamarine or diamond but I'm not set on that) that has some height, and that is cheaper than this one that I've had my eye on for quite a while.  I also want a somewhat substantial band so it doesn't wear down too easily.  But I don't want anything too bulky.  Jake doesn't want to spend that much money and is interested in something lab created and/or custom made, which is okay.  Easier said than done, though.  We love Stauer...but they don't offer custom sized rings.  I've searched up and down for lab created items elsewhere that can be made in custom sizes without much luck.

So I've started looking on Etsy.  And this is what I've come up with so far.
Of course the ring pictured is white gold, but she offers this same ring setting with yellow gold like you can find here.  This setting is awesome.  So unique.  I love how it's substantial without being overwhelming.

This ring isn't a lot cheaper than the one I've had my eye on from Kay, but it's so amazing.  Yellow gold, diamonds, and aquamarine...what else would I want, right?  The setting isn't as unique as the last one but it's a very classic look.

I wouldn't want this stone, but I love everything else about this ring.  It's rose gold, which I think looks fine with yellow gold.  Otherwise I could ask about customization.  They offer stone choices/customization on other rings like this one, so even if it didn't have a diamond or aquamarine, I think we would find something that I would like.  This is another amazing setting.  So unique.  I love how it looks like a little crown.  The detail on the sides of the stone is great, too.

I'm not going to start contacting sellers for at least another five months, but it's fun to start looking.  I'll be keeping my eyes open and may share more ideas if I come up with anything else.

recent orders/projects/Alchemy

I've put all of my new ideas and planned projects aside for the past week or so because of all of the custom work that I've had!  I've also been working on a couple presents.  The first will be part of my new line of items that I'll be revealing soon.  The other one is my first tubular triangle pendant.
I know that it's hard to tell in this picture, but the dark beads are a wonderful, deep shade of purple.  For those who like this color combination, you will be seeing more of it in the future. :)

One of my two recent Alchemy bids that I won was actually for supplies.  I haven't gotten into destashing on Etsy, but I thought that this would be an interesting opportunity.  This is what I put together this week.

The other Alchemy bid that I won is for the custom pearl and lemon quartz cuff that I won't be working on until sometime next week when all of the supplies come in so I'll have more details about that then.  The other order that I've been working on this week is the wedding order that I mentioned at the beginning of this week.  Here are the two made to order pieces.

The newest version of my Silver Links Ocean Beaded Bracelet.  Yes, these made to order pieces are small so they'll fit the young flower girls.

And the newest version of my Green Ocean Fantasy Beadwoven Bracelet.  I still have some of these polka dot beads in blue (as well as a few other colors) so I might make a slightly modified version to sell.
I'll post pictures of the complete bridesmaid wedding order after the bride has received it.

I finally got the boutique consignment agreement in the mail at the very end of this week. I have business cards and jewelry tags now, and I put together a flier about myself. I'm just finishing up the pieces I'm going to send. I'm sending five - a button bracelet, a button charm bracelet, a right angle bangle, another right angle weave piece, and a peyote cuff. My goal is to have everything ready to send before Thanksgiving so I can get it in the mail before we head out of town for the holiday.

I finished Sarah's button necklace. She's waiting until her next pay check to purchase it. In the mean time, if anyone else is interested in a necklace, I'm happy to take more custom requests. I will most likely relist the item as such after she does purchase it.

I received my pendant from yjja123 this week. It is gorgeous! I strung it on a silver chain. I took a picture of myself wearing it a few days ago. I'm going to do a big picture upload later this weekend and will post it after that.

I'm featuring my button charm bracelets in this post:

And I'm posting two pictures of my newest button charm bracelet posting - a Christmas one:
