giveaway and some new goodies

I don't promote a lot of giveaways here, but I had to mention that my EtsyBlogger teammate Edi (memoriesforlifesb), one of my favorite people on Etsy, is having a giveaway on her blog right now.  You can enter it by clicking here.  In honor of her 28th birthday this month, she's giving away a $28 gift certificate for her shop.
You can use the gift certificate for anything in her shop.  Even if you don't need an album or other custom item for yourself, many of her items make wonderful gifts.  So please go enter if you haven't already.

I've been going through lots of jump rings lately with all of the button charm bracelets that I've been making.  So I've made a couple trips to Michael's in the past few weeks.  And of course I can never walk away with just the items that I intended to pick up when I went there.
Michael's has great coupons on their web site.  Between the two trips, I saved over $7.00 on about $35 worth of merchandise.  The pink and pale blue shells were on sale, which is why I splurged on those.  All of the other beads were either 50% off or ended up being 20-30% off with the coupons.  I've sold two rock garden bracelets this summer and wanted a few more components for my next pieces in that series.  The green and purple components on the far left will work perfectly for those.

blog giveaway decision, second holiday 2010 special

Remember my post about Grace's color choices for her blog giveaway earrings?  I ended up making two different versions of the earring.  She decided which one she likes better tonight.  Does anyone else have a preference?

The first part of my holiday 2010 specials is my holiday sale section.  I will continue to add more items throughout November and December.  I launched the second part of my holiday 2010 specials tonight.
Every order from Nov. 8-Dec. 18 will receive a FREE pair of these Christmas button earrings.  If you'd like additional pairs or button post earrings in custom colors, please let me know.

and the blog giveaway winner is...

Thanks to all 14 people who entered my blog giveaway for my 2nd Etsy anniversary!  I used a random number generator to select the winner.

Number 7 is Grace from Hugz Before You Go!  Congrats Grace. :) I contacted her tonight.  She can choose a peyote triangle pendant or pair of earrings in whatever color or color combination she'd like.  I'll be sure to post a picture of her finished piece.  I will most likely make a second version to sell as well.  Thanks again for playing everyone!

I did not have any sales during my free shipping promotion, but I switched some holiday items into my sale section early this morning.  One of them sold today along with another bangle!  I also have a custom order in the works from one of my eBay customers (which is why it pays to give out business cards to everyone!).  She wants some sea glass pieces she inherited from her grandmother wire wrapped into simple pendants.  I'm still so over wire wrapping after my pearl project, but this will be very different and hopefully more fun.  I got the sea glass pieces today.  I'm still waiting for the wire.  I'll keep everyone updated.

Art Beads certificate giveaway winner, Jan./Feb 2010 EBW Challenge entry

And the winner of the ArtBeads.com e-mail gift certificate is my fellow EtsyBlogger member Margaret of Splendid Little Stars! Congrats Margaret! I contacted her on Etsy to get the information that I need for ArtBeads. As soon as they have her information, they'll send her the gift certificate. Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the giveaway!

I listed my Jan./Feb. EBW Challenge entry today for the theme ocean/sea. I've wanted to do something with coral recently, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I decided to combine it with my leaf design and a few other recently acquired components. I used some of my funky nuggets from Jen (blueseraphim), the vintage fish button I got from one of my button exchanges with Kelly (kreatedbykelly), and some swarovskis and cubic zirconias from the ArtBeads blogging program. The components I got from ArtBeads are bicone aquamarine swarovskis, faceted roundelle caribbean blue opal swarovskis, and peridot CZ round beads. I think that the swarovskis and zirconias added just the right amount of sparkle. I'm really pleased with the overall result.

Voting for this challenge won't be until February 9-15. I will post more information about it then.

One of my goals for 2010 is to do a better job updating my Facebook fan page. I have stuck with it over break. Hopefully I will continue to do so! I know several people who have had a lot of sales/Etsy exposure from their pages and hope that I can have similar success. If you haven't already become a fan, please consider doing so! You can click on the link above or this one right here.

Enjoy the rest of your New Year's Day!

Disclosure - I received my ArtBead's products free of charge through their blogging program. I am honestly reviewing their products and have not been paid for my endorsement as it pertains to the products I received.

new triangle pendant

Just a quick reminder that there are only a couple days left to enter my Art Beads gift certificate giveaway! The winner gets a $25 e-mail gift certificate to ArtBeads.com. You can enter until midnight CST on December 31. I will pick and announce the winner on New Year's Day. You can enter the giveaway by clicking here.

I listed a new triangle pendant tonight. The triangle will eventually coordinate with a red striped cuff, but that cuff is still a work in progress due to the previously mentioned technical difficulties. I've had trouble getting back to the cuff so progress is slow. I'm happy with the triangle, though.

I'm pretty positive that my next triangle will actually be a pair of triangle earrings.

I've had a lot of time to do bead work since we got back into town yesterday. I've also had some gorgeous sunshine for photographing so I will continue to list more new pieces over the next week.

Etsy goodies

I received a couple of Etsy packages this week.

The first was from Kristie (artisanclay). I got the smoke fired ceramic donut that I won on her blog giveaway. I will get a picture of it sometime, but it looks a lot like this medium gray and black donut. I also got this set of turquoise shank buttons. I think that I can do something amazing with one of them and a set of blue dotted barrel beads like that ones that I used in this bracelet. Kristie has shank buttons in other colors available in her shop. She just posted a ton of cabochons on her flickrstream, too, that you need to check out.

The second was from Yvonne (yjja123). I got the beautiful fused glass pendant that I traded for. The colors are even more amazing in person than they are in the pictures.

Thanks ladies!

a remake listing and a few other random things

Congratulations to the November EBW Challenge winner grakowsky with her Hibiscus Necklace! I am in awe of everyone who participated in this challenge because it was simply not something that my bead weaving skills are up to (at this point anyway). Absolutely gorgeous entries! Good luck to everyone who is also working on a piece for the December challenge right now. :)

Lisa (Alterity Art) is featuring the first in a series of Christmas giveaways on her blog right now. The first person featured is giving away a lovely set of handmade coasters. You can check out all of the details on her blog by clicking here.

I finally completed a sale today with a college friend that I started back in August. That is rather ridiculous I know, but at least it's finally squared away. One more sold item cleared out of my Etsy inventory!

I listed a remake today. I created the original version early in the summer and sold it before I could list it on Etsy. It's now back and listed here. This was a tougher design to create and bead than it looks like. The first one drove me a little crazy because it made me a little dizzy haha. The second time around went much smoother.

The first one is from Carol Dean of Sand Fibers. She is giving away one of her gorgeous bead woven bracelets. If you have never seen Carol's work before, you really need to check out her Etsy shop. You can get all the details about the giveaway on her blog by clicking here.

The second one is from Kara of K9KreationsbyKara. You can win a set of custom cards from one of her sponsors. The best part is that Kara gets a free set of custom cards, too! You can check out the post on her blog by clicking here.

Good luck everyone!
