EtsyBloggers treasury, my favorite lake, sneak peak

I've been so caught up with everything lately that I didn't think to post my newest EtsyBloggers treasury until now.  I signed up to curate our weekly treasury this week.  I got on such a lime kick with my feature earlier this week that I decided to stick with it for my treasury.

The second sign that I've been so caught up with everything is that I didn't upload my pictures from Labor Day weekend until tonight.  As I'm sure some of you know by now, one of the things that I miss when I'm in Iowa is Lake Michigan.  I always like to visit it when I can when I'm in Chicago or Kenosha.  I had a couple opportunities to visit it when we were in Kenosha for Labor Day.
Anyone who doesn't think that the midwest is beautiful is crazy.
These last two pictures were later in the day, around 7PM.

Finally, I got the final supplies for my pearl bracelet yesterday so I've been hard at work the last couple nights.  I'm still waiting for the proper wire for the coordinating earrings, but I'm hoping to finish the bracelet by the end of the weekend.  Here's a sneak peak.  I took this tonight, and the light box just doesn't work as well when there's no natural light.  I'll get some lighter pictures of the final product.
Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. The lake is beautiful! So is that bracelet! Wowza!

  2. Thanks Sharla! The finished pictures of it will be even better. :)

  3. Lake Michigan is beautiful! I love the last photo at sunset!
I got to see it in South Haven, MI while visiting my parents a few years back :)

  4. ohhhh yesss Michigan is wonderful, year round. but then again like you I'm a Meechaganian !!!! that bracelet is gorgeous. can't wait to see the earrings.

  5. I don't think I've ever been to Lake Michigan... though I was in Chicago once, on a layover train ride. It's absolutely beautiful!

  6. I'm from Chicago originally, and Lake Michigan has always been one of my favorite lakes. You should check it out if you're ever in the vicinity again, Deb. :)

I'll be sure to post pictures of the earrings, too!

  7. First, your bracelet is beautiful and I think white is just hard to photograph, no matter what the light conditions. Secondly, as a Minnesotan, I second your love of the midwest and your photography really captured the beauty of it! Well done on both counts!

  8. I love Make Michigan and I love your pearl bracelet. :)

  9. Thank you so much Marsha and Patricia! Marsha, I tried shooting the pearl bracelet against a gray background today, which worked pretty well. I'll have pictures of it up soon.
