Friday Feature: handmade buttons

I'm finishing up the month of May by featuring one of my all-time favorite handmade items: buttons. Enjoy!

Do you ever use handmade buttons for your craft projects?

B is for Boats

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday today? Let's go!

I photographed boats (on Lake Michigan) in Kenosha, WI a couple times at the end of last summer.
August 2012

There was something about these experiences that was extremely fulfilling. I've never really gotten over it. As such, I've been looking forward to taking pictures of boats up in Milwaukee ever since. Now that the weather is warmer, people have their boats out in full force again, and I was able to get out and photograph some of them earlier this month.

Check out what the other Alphabe participants posted this week for the letter B right here!

another Greenfield Park excursion

When I want to switch up my walking routine from the VA grounds and a couple other spots in my neighborhood, Greenfield Park is always the first place on my list. One of my challenges this spring and summer is going to be getting out to walk once in a while purely for exercise without my camera. This time the camera came along, though. Enjoy.

This has quickly become one of my favorite shots. I look for opportunities to get similar compositions just about any time I'm out with my camera now.

Look at those little baby geese! I love seeing them this time of year.

I've started photographing things through chain link fences, and it's really addicting. This shot is of a playground. For some reason, that subject really appeals to me for this kind of composition.

Where do you enjoy walking in your area?

kitten cell phone photos round up

Welcome to the latest installment of kitten cell phone photos!

Preparing for a jump from the window to the bed.

Apollo knows how to be a really helpful computer assistant.

Don't you sleep better when someone has a paw right over your face?

Classic Ares.

Lately I've given up on keeping the rubber ducks arranged in the bathroom because most of them end up right back in the tub.

Usually this stool lives in the pantry, but lately Ares has been using it to jump right up on the shelves and knock things over. So I moved it out into the kitchen where it has opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

Why sleep on a dry bed or couch when you can hang out on a wet towel in a laundry basket?

Ever present kitchen helper Apollo.

My current favorite picture of me and Ares.

Apollo has watched Ares do this so many times that he finally decided it was a good idea.

What? Don't you relax this way all the time, too?

What have your cats been up to lately?
