reworking some more older designs, next challenge piece

I've reworked few more designs since my last reworked post.  Most items I'm making very similar new versions, but there are several that I'm just not interested in revisiting.  When I first started beadweaving, I made a few of these chunkier cube cuffs.

They were fun and great practice for peyote stitch, but they aren't a line I'm continuing so for the ones that sold off of Etsy, I'm reworking the cube color themes with some of my original designs.

I've also been starting to think about my next challenge entry.  The November EBW Challenge theme is Twisted.  You can read more about it here.  I've actually let a little bit of time lapse in between challenge entries this time.  I've been pushing so hard with the challenges this year, and after creating the Picasso pattern, I needed a little break.  But I'll still be making a Twisted entry.  I'm very excited about this theme.  I've been wanting to try twisted tubular herringbone, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it.

I'm planning to make an all blue base with lots of different shades and finishes and then embellish it with small glass beads.  We'll see how it goes!  It will be very different from my right angle weave cuffs that I've made for the last four challenges.

I've been working on a brand new line...

I actually made a blue version earlier this year, which was more of an experiment than anything else.  Now I'm fully developing this as a little line for my shop.  As you can see above, I have three finished.  I have three more planned as well.  So stay tuned.  They will be available in the near future.  I would love to write a pattern for this at some point, too.  I have seen other dagger fringed bracelets before, but not with a peyote cube base like I've used with my design.

I sold the longer version of my Emerald City right angle bracelet at the Iowa Arts Festival.  I updated the listing on Etsy today so it only has the shorter one in it.

Unfortunately if I make any more Emerald Cities, they will not look exactly like this because I only have a few of the size 6 Czech beads from that particular green mix left.  That's hard to believe because it was a huge mix.  I got rid of the original bag a long time ago, but it was at least 80 grams.  It served me well!  I just wish that I could find something similar to it again.

more non-Etsy sales

I went to Chicago from the 10th through the 13th. While I was there, among other things, I sold five more pieces, two of which are so new that I hadn't even listed them on Etsy yet. I had taken pictures of everything that I brought with me, though, so you can still see the new work.



The first one will still be a very easy one to list as a made to order item. I may go ahead and make another one at some point so I can have one on hand. The second one is a new design I've made two of now. The other one is all blue and will be listed sometime this month. I'm thinking about making another embellished cuff with the gold cubes for detail, but with an all green background. As always, feedback on the new design as well as other ideas for color and embellishment are appreciated.

My sales covered the beads that I bought at Briolette and Bead in Hand while I was there. I went to Briolette when I was in Chicago back in February, and my mom bought me a stash of beads from there for my birthday, too. I hadn't been to Bead in Hand in about three years, though. It was good to go back. I love the two bead stores in the Iowa City / Cedar Rapids area, too, but I love the variety of different stores.
