one of my favorite places in Milwaukee

Over the past year and a half, I have shared many pictures from the grounds of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. This may seem like a very random spot to frequent, but it is a fascinating, beautiful spot of Milwaukee that is filled with history. I recently did a little late fall, nearly dusk (and by nearly dusk in December, I mean 4:00 p.m.) shoot there. Enjoy.

Are there any unique areas of your neighborhood that you like to frequent?

  1. There are numerous parks here, but the homeless have taken them over. So, not really anyplace that stands out. Living in the central valley of California there isn't much.

    Have a terrific day. :)

  2. I can't believe dusk is 4pm...that still throws me off!
Glad you were able to get out before dark to get some pics.
Love the pine tree and the bridge shots!

  3. Beautiful photos! I really like the one with the bridge in the background. There's something magical about historic sites, isn't there? I haven't been anywhere lately, but Old Sacramento is nearby and has lots of sites to see. Maybe I'll go there sometime soon and snap some shots (when I fix my camera or get a new one). A camera is on my Christmas wish list. =0)

  4. Lovely walk at dusk! Yes, hubby and I frequent the Willamette River just a few blocks from our house. We have been at dusk, which is nice; seeing the ducks, seagulls, and geese fly low over the water going to roust on the river banks. Great!

  5. I love how they keep the gravemarkers in the ground. It makes the view so pretty. I do like looking at old gravestones, too and seeing the inscriptions... Very pretty grounds there. {:-D

  6. These photos are great with all the textures.. and I love the mood. The older I get the more I enjoy the darker overcast days. I have always loved cemeteries because they feel so peaceful to me. Thank you for sharing these :)

  7. right here in my town there really isn't any place of great interest. There are however interesting things to be seen if you look hard enough :)

  8. I love that fence picture, Rose. Year ago, I went to an art show and the lady took pictures of all kinds of fences.. every fence you could think of - material - old and newer - it really was fascinating.

  10. Looks lovely, I love the photograph of the pine branch. There's a park down the street I love to go to, a lake, paths, and a playground for my little one!

  11. That place is beautiful. I can see why you like to go there so much! As it is only a 20 min. ride, I really like going across the border to the Rose Gardens :)
