Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!
There is a statue in Milwaukee right near the Art Museum called The Calling. If you've been following my blog for a while, you've seen it pop up from time to time. As you can imagine, it's a love-hate thing for most people in Milwaukee. I'm not much of a modern art fan, but I actually love The Calling. You can read more about it over here.
I've seen a couple great photos of The Calling on Instagram lately. You can find them at the end of this post after my own photos of the statue. Enjoy.
Christmas Day 2012
Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for the letter C right here!
It has great symbolism of reaching out and pulling in with all connected.

ReplyDeleteI like modern art! The orange really pops against the blue sky in your first photo!
ReplyDeleteYour city looks like a pleasant place to live :)
My favorite is the Easter 2014 top photo -- the orange really pops against the grey buildings, and the industrial against the old, very cool.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fine sculpture...I love it when cities have special arty attractions ♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/cloud-a-scope/
ReplyDeleteGreat sculpture. I think there is one by the same sculptor on the UNL City Campus.

I was wondering about the name, so I went over to your link. Too bad about the depot; it's a beautiful spot, right on the shore. Love your new banner! {:-D
ReplyDeleteWith all the controversy I guess it brings attention to the museum.
ReplyDeleteThese are some great pics!
ReplyDeleteThat orange is really sublime, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThe more I looked at this sculpture the more I liked it!
