During a recent photo taking excursion, a friend and I stumbled across an abandoned house along a country highway. It was not the first time that one of the neatest parts of a trip was something that we didn't plan, and I'm sure that it won't be the last. The house piqued curiosity so I went ahead and edited this little set before I edited the rest of my photos from that excursion. Enjoy.
If you came across this post because you're looking for new photography spots in the Milwaukee area, the house is on Highway C in between Lion's Den Gorge and Port Washington.
What have you been photographing lately? Have you stumbled across any surprising finds?
Oh the stories that house could tell! Love the photo of the nails!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to come across. Looks like it was a beautiful house at one point :)
ReplyDeleteCool shots! It looks like it was a very large, grand structure.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I definitely would have stopped too. You are so right about the unexpected being highlights. We were driving home from Michigan and we saw this giant Abraham Lincoln head. I think I posted about it on my blog. We stopped and photographed it. The thing was huge! Then we drove a couple miles down the road and there was another one. I can't remember who it was, I'll have to look at the pictures. They were used for some sort of festival from what I read later after I researched it. It was so much fun to stop along the road to get pictures.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I wonder who used to live there...
ReplyDeleteOh, the back story . . . I wonder . . . . Nice photos!

ReplyDeletedefinitely photo worthy and interesting!
