photo share: final concert of summer 2014

I've only given you a little taste here of the many concerts that I was able to attend this summer. It's been an amazing lineup. I'm sad that the summer concert run has come to an end (and generally sad that summer is wrapping up) but fortunate that I had so many opportunities to hear live music the past few months. I'm also stoked that Jake and I are 14-15 MSO Pops subscribers and have our first series concert in less than a month, which means that there will be more live music in the near future.

A couple weeks ago I finished up my summer 2014 concert run at The Jazz Estate with Hood Smoke, one of my brother's bands. I'm sharing a few of those pictures with you here today. Enjoy.

What have you been photographing lately?
Did anyone else attend some amazing concerts this summer?

just one of the reasons that I love summer

A couple years ago I put together a why I love summer post. One of the things that I did not talk about in that post was outdoor concerts. Milwaukee has amazing support for all types of art and is home to an abundance of outdoor concerts from local park series to Summerfest. A couple weeks ago, my brother's band Hood Smoke played Jazz in the Park.

Last year Hood Smoke played Summerfest! Check out the photos over here.

Finally, on the subject of summer, last year I complied my summer photography tips. If you're like me and you get out and shoot as much as possible during the warm months, check it out.

photo share: June concerts

As many of you already know, June was an amazing month of attending concerts and shows for me and Jake. Our lineup consisted of the following:
We were way overdue for this, and every single minute of it was completely worth it. I also had the opportunity to take pictures at several of these events, which was even more amazing. Today I'm sharing just a few of my pictures from Polish Fest, Lakefront Festival of Art, and Summerfest. Enjoy. (My brother is the one on keyboards at Polish Fest and Summerfest.)

Jake keeps asking me why so many of my photos are in black and white. It just seems to keep happening. It may pass soon or it may go on for years. It's hard to tell. I'm really not sure what else to say about that. He also wanted to know why I've been taking so many pictures at concerts that don't include people's heads. If you also thought that while checking out this post, you're not alone. Hopefully it works for some of you.

Have you been to any concerts, shows, or festivals this summer?
