photo share: Solvay Coke
Today I'm sharing photos from one of my recent photo excursions in Milwaukee that included going to the Solvay Coke & Gas Site. You can read about this site on the EPA website here or on American Urbex here. There are also numerous photos of it on Flickr. It's thanks to those kind of photos that fellow photographers and I keep discovering new places and subjects to photograph. This was an amazing experience, and I'm glad to share just a little bit of here with others. Enjoy.

Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThose are great photos, Rose! I think it might be a bit scary to walk around there, especially looking at that last photo...
ReplyDeleteI like the nails and the rusty screws. Those are the kind of pictures I have always taken and in the days of film my mom would ask why I was wasting my money:)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're going to make this kind of spread a regular feature! These are great, especially the rusty nails. (Which is not something I ever thought I'd say.)
ReplyDeleteLoved the rusty nails photo! An interesting place.
ReplyDeleteI really like the first photo - the greens are so vibrant!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome, Rose! They convey a certain "grungy" atmosphere, which I think is totally cool :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting photos. I'm not sure it's a place I'd want to venture into.
ReplyDeleteI feel so badly for that large space in the last photo. What a great gallery it would have made... Like your photo with the reflection of the water. Very cool! {:-D
ReplyDeleteInteresting collection of photos. There is something intriguing about old spaces, and you have done a great job of capturing the space from today's viewpoint.

Interesting post here as well. I just came via your post today. I didn't notice the smurf artwork and I rather enjoyed your full color photo of that room a bit better!
