Q is for (You Have to Be) Quick to Get the Shot

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

Last month I was out with some friends at a park in Milwaukee in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city, minutes from Lake Michigan. While we were there, a group of four wild turkeys wandered through the area. I'm sure that many of you see wild turkeys all the time, but it's an extremely rare sighting for us city folks. You have to get the shot while you can because you may not have another chance any time soon.

Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for the letter Q this week right here!

  1. Those turkeys are good at playing hide and seek! Good that you were able to get some great shots! BTW, I like your new banner -- beautiful fall colors! Our trees haven't even thought about turning colors yet :D

  2. I totally agree! We have a family that's been wandering in and out of my yard all summer, and just the other morning they came prancing by my window, and I grabbed my camera, quick before my dog scared them off!

  3. How cool! We do have many of them here, but I've never been anywhere near this close to them. You're right about needing to be quick.

  4. They are so small compared to the ones we eat at Thanksgiving. :-)
    Awesome find though! *Gobble* *Gobble*

  6. Turkeys are quick that's for sure! There's some in our neighborhood but I've yet to be able to get a photo of them before they scoot off into the bushes.

I think I finally got your blog to show up in my reader list so I don't miss more posts. *fingers crossed*

  8. Yes! I think they are in hiding with Thanksgiving a couple months away. I saw about six or eight of them in the field behind my house last week. They crack me up the way they walk!
