a break from our usual programming

I'm taking a little break from my usual beading, buttons, Etsy, etc. posts to share some of my vacation pictures from this week!  Jake had an interview in Seattle on Friday.  We made a little trip out of it, which was an awesome and much needed break from everything.

We had to pay for wireless internet in our hotel so we took my work computer to the public library a couple blocks from our hotel.  It's pretty awesome.

Walking along the waterfront.

Fountain in front of the aquarium.

I did not have to zoom in to take this picture.

I love this shot of the skyline from the waterfront.

There was a little fog, but the little islands still look amazing.

I know that we look cold.  We weren't.  It was 50, windy, and lightly raining, which was an a refreshing change from 10 with a wind chill of below 0 with lots of snow.

Of course we had to visit Pike's Market.

And of course we had to visit the Space Needle.  We'd both been up in it before so we didn't go up this time.

We did go to some of the museums around the Space Needle.  There was a special Battlestar Galactica exhibit at the Sci-Fi Museum.

The regular part of the Sci-Fi Museum that was not under construction.

And finally, here are a few shots of our hotel.  We stayed at the Fairmount Inn right in downtown Seattle.  Yes, this hotel is very fancy.  We got an amazing deal on it through Expedia.

  2. Looks like a great trip! I had to chuckle at your comment on not having to zoom in for the seagull. They don't fly away very quickly and they sure are huge out this way aren't they? The current weather here today - 56 and rainy. :)

  4. Deb, you should definitely go if you ever have the chance!

Sharla, that's awesome that your weather is like that right now, too. The seagulls that we saw were all pretty big and bold!

    Thanks Edi!

  5. Pikes Market is my favorite! Did you get to see them tossing fish at the fish market? Really a fun experience!
