Scavenger Hunt on Monday

Thanks to another awesome round of treasuries this week, I moved this post to Monday again.  Thanks for the feedback on last week's hunt, too!  I hope that this one is as well received.  Enjoy!

1. Words
Does anyone else have Magnet Poetry?  We have 3 sets: a music set I bought (back in HS maybe?), a freebie set I got from my undergrad, and a freebie set that we got in the mail from Kaplan.  I haven't put it up on the fridge yet.  We have our lovely exposed side that would be perfect for this...

2.  Under
I thought that I'd give you a look at one of the less glamorous parts of our house: underneath my computer desk.  Jake's computer has about twice as many wires if you can believe that.  The cable attached to nothing is a TV cable that was dropped through the basement ceiling.  We don't have cable TV so it just hangs there.  At least the rest of it is functional!

3.  Orange
I was excited that orange is one of the themes for this week.  I think that orange is so underrated.  And yep, I am still doing some re-shoots of old jewelry pieces.  This was one of the most recent ones I did, and it fit with this theme so I had to include it.  This piece is perfect for Halloween or just about any other time in the fall.

4.  Fly

I'm cheating on this one and using a couple pictures that I took of hawks in June of 2010 at Devil's Lake National Park.  Jake and I took a little side trip there during our Wisconsin Dells vacation.  There were tons of hawks flying around.  We were still living in Iowa then and saw hawks on a regular basis.  Now I would be more wowed by this event.

5.  Always Look on the Bright Side
I haven't had any sales on Etsy this week, but I did work out the details for two new pieces of mine that will be featured in Bead Trends Magazine in early 2012.  They are now on their way to the editor.  This was a huge ego boost for me this month: The editor contacted ME to see if I had any new designs to share with them.  (One of my bracelets was featured in an issue back in February.)  She was looking for a few more pieces to fill final slots in upcoming issues, and she picked a couple of my designs.  She also told me that they're looking for lots of earrings for 2012 and to keep submitting my ideas.  How awesome is that?

Please check out Ashley's blog to see what other people photographed for these themes this week!

  1. I agree, your orange bracelet is lovely for Fall. Your items are going to be featured in a magazine? How awesome is that! Congratulations :)
I have hidden those horrible cables behind a "screen", so that I don't have to look at them when I'm working at my desk!

  2. I will have to check out the scavenger hunt--it looks like fun. And that is great about the magazine!

Your bracelet was featured in today's post, It’s a Wrap Link Party at Artful Rising. It is not a magazine:)

  3. We have a set of magnet poetry that we keep in our powder room. We figure it gives guests something to do while they have to go.

  4. I remember the word poetry magnets :)
Tell Jake not to feel bad for having twice as many cords...I think I have 10 times that many! I tried to orgnized them...but decided it is truly impossible!
