D is for Ducks

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

Is anyone surprised that I picked ducks for this week of the meme? Probably not. It isn't a complete vacation, photo excursion, walk through grounds with a pond, etc. without a duck spotting.

Group of ducks in Alexandria, VA, August 2011

One of the many ducks at Sea World, San Antonio, December 2012

Ducks and geese at the Milwaukee Zoo, February 2013

Ducks out on the waves near Lake Park, Milwaukee, March 2013

Ducks surfing the waves in Grant Park, Milwaukee area, April 2013

Ducks in Greenfield Park, Milwaukee area, May 2013

Ducks on the VA Grounds, Milwaukee, May 2013

Lone duck hanging out in McKinley Park, Milwaukee, May 2013

Ducks by a Milwaukee area cemetery pond, May 2013

Check out what the other Alphabe participants posted this week for the letter D right here!

  2. Great duck pics! I especially like the first one with them lined up on the log -- maybe they don't want to get their toes wet!

  3. Pairs! Love the pictures of the duck pairs! Makes my mind start whirling with ideas about what story they might have. :)

  5. Surfing ducks! Too cool! I saw some ducks in a marina here last week - I had no idea there were ducks that hung out in salt water. Maybe they saw pictures of surfing Great Lakes ducks and thought it looked fun!

  14. Enjoyed all the ducks. I was so busy looking in the water for the ducks in the first picture that I missed them on the tree trunk.

  15. Ducks are delightful to watch. I especially enjoy the fuzzy babies this time of year. They're not too sure quite where to put their little webbed feet yet.

  16. I am a fan of ducks as well. I am a pre-k teacher and read to my class, Make Way for Ducklings. I went to Boston and had to go and see the park what is featured in the book and take photos of the duck sculpture.....in the snow. Great photos and I especially like the last B&W one.

  17. Rose, I just love looking at your photos. It's funny how we learn so much about other people by viewing their photos. In this post as well as many others, it appears as if we live in the same area! We both live near the lake, we both have great parks close by, we both are not far from the big or medium sized cities, along with many other parallels.

We both seem live the same lifestyles. We are devoted to our family, our business, our photography, and our homes. I'll bet we would be good friends if we lived closer!

And I love the duckie photos!
