F is for (Storm) Fronts

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

There are not a lot of things that I miss about living in Iowa, but one of them is the big sky. You can always see the storms coming in, which is terrifying when they're big snow storms but pretty cool when they're thunderstorms. I would love to try to get shots of this nature with my SLR someday, but for now, I'm sharing what I did take when I lived there. Enjoy.

All of that dirt is on the car window, but you the big jagged gray in the back is storm clouds.

One of the best, if not also most chilling, views that I ever had driving to and from work in Iowa.

Of course one of the best parts about the big sky effect with storms is the aftermath.

Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for for the letter F this week right here!

  1. That last photo is just unreal!

  2. Wow! Beautiful photos! Since I currently live so close to under a mountain it affects the apparent sunset time, I cannot imagine having al that sky.

  3. What cool photos! Storms can be quite thrilling!

  4. Those last few are exceptional shots!

  5. that's one thing I enjoy about the Oklahoma weather: seeing the fronts coming in, whether they are thunderheads from the south or cold fronts from the north. Such calming pink skies, after the storm! {:-D

  6. The sky always amazes me, but when storms are coming, they are just totally awesome! Your shots are lovely, especially the rainbow.

  7. What a beautiful place! Storm fronts withstanding!

  8. What fabulous photographs thank you

  9. What a great F for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday! I always love your photos. :)

If you want to read about Disney's Frozen, hop over to my blog. Frozen is my F this week. :)

    Greetings from Germany,

  10. Seeing that huge storm would fill me with fear...

Although, I must admit, the view is fabulous!
