V is for (a New Take on) the VA Grounds

Are you ready for another round of Alphabe Thursday? Let's go!

Many of you who have been following my blog for the past few years know that I live in close proximity to the VA grounds in Milwaukee and wonder through them at least once a month. After three+ years of photographing virtually every aspect of the VA grounds, it can be challenging to do something different.

However, one thing that I had wanted to do for months is take my tripod and shoot some long exposures of the fountain with the VA buildings and Miller Park in the backdrop. I'm really glad that I made a little time for this shoot while the fountain is still on for the season. I'd still love to shoot this area at dusk, but this was a great start. Enjoy.

Check out what the other Alphabe Thursday participants posted for the letter V this week right here!

  1. Beautiful pictures. I hadn't thought about the cold winters, but I guess the fountains would freeze and get ruined if they left them on.

  5. So cool! That building is a great and your long exposure water shots are so cool! I'd love to start experimenting with them, but there are so many people everywhere it's difficult to get even a 'regular' shot of anything without someone wandering into the frame.
