Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro on Monday

Welcome to another edition of the photo Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro!  Enjoy!

1) Waiting

I thought that it would be fun to follow up on the water photos from last week and show you a little more about how Angel's water routine goes.  You get to see a lot of blurry kitty here because she moves around so much while she's waiting.  The last photo is my favorite.

2) Foliage
I felt like I didn't really need to add another picture of fall leaves to the plethora that people have posted this year so I took a picture of our newly purchased Christmas tree, pre-decorated instead.  One of the things that Jake and I have been super excited about ever since we bought our house this summer is that we can finally get a real Christmas tree.  It was one of the first things on our "to do" list for the day after Thanksgiving.

3) Candid
We take a lot of pictures of Angel just because.  For those of you who stop by here regularly, I'm sure that's a huge surprise (not).  This is a perfect example.  Angel loves it when I don't clean up because it means that she can sit with random stuff on the floor.

4) Knife, Fork, or Spoon
This is the aftermath of my stromboli on Saturday night.  You can get the recipe here.

5) Rule of Thirds
I wish that I'd gotten the peak of the left side of the building a little lower so it really hit that upper point for the thirds guidelines, but I don't consider this a complete fail.  I took this picture yesterday during a little trip that Jake and I made to Chicago to visit a friend.

Here's my shot for I Heart Macro.  One of these weeks I'll take a macro shot of something besides jewelry, but that probably isn't going to happen before Christmas.  This is a re-shoot of an old piece.

  3. Sweetie, be careful with the tree - they dry out quickly -

  5. Awesome! I know what you mean about kitties loving to "sit with random stuff on the floor". Too funny!

  7. I like the "candid" photo. I vaguely remember the Rule of Thirds from high school because my ex-boyfriend was (is) really into photography, but I can't remember what it means...

I hope you had fun in Chi-Town! My In-Laws are coming in on Friday (Cupcakes' Birthday!) :oD

  8. Angel is so cute waiting for her fresh water! Sitting with random stuff is a cat rule they must abide by!

  9. Great photos and Angel sure is a great subject. My cat will let me photograph her anytime but my dog is scared to death of my camera which is a new thing. When he sees it, he runs for cover. I think it's the funny noise it makes when you turn it on.

  12. Angel is a cutie! I took a lot of photos of my daughter's kitties over Thanksgiving. Most are blurry! Just how do you get a kitty to pose?!
There is nothing like a live tree!
Your jewelry is lovely, macro or not!
