Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro on Monday (11/12/12)

Welcome to another edition of the photo Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro!

1) Nature
I took a much needed mini excursion to the lake front on Friday after I set up for my weekend craft show. More details on the show as well as more pictures from that excursion coming soon.

I'm also using this for I Heart Macro this week.

2) Vintage or Retro
I know that I have featured our china cabinet and crazy collection of inherited pieces that reside in it a bunch of times before, but we don't have a lot of vintage or retro pieces. Plus how can you ever get tired of little vintage coffee cups in such great condition?

3) Whimsical
People tell me all the time that buttons are whimsical. I put in a large chunk of time making new button magnets and rings (as well as glass magnets) before my show this past weekend. The good news is that it paid off and I'll be making a bunch more small button items this next week for my remaining 2012 shows.

4) Cooking
Normally if I'm making something special for breakfast, it's bacon or sausage and eggs. Jake wanted to do something different this week so I whipped up some French toast.

5) Week's Best
Surprise, right? This is actually from more than a week ago, but who is counting? And yes, all of that "garbage" in the background is for Angel and has become a new coveted spot. The large fur patch around the poll is still an indication that she hasn't given up that obsession, though.

Check out Ashley's blog to see what other people submitted for the themes this week.

  1. Great to see some of the last fall leaves. And your french toast looks great!
Angel just cracks me up with her pole :) And I see her blue bag is still a favorite too...lol

  2. Laughing about Angel- doesn't it make for a hilariously awkward moment when you have to explain to a non-cat owning guest that that pile of trash in the corner is not actually trash, but for the cat?? Hahaha. Hope the show went well, and I'm enjoying your fall lake shot!

  4. I keep a pile of cartons in a corner of our living room - looks terrible, but it's for Molly :)

  5. Love the little button magnets. They are so colorful. Mmmmmm, french toast, we also had french toast this week. It's one of our favorite breakfast treats. Oh Angel, she's so cute. Our cats decided that some tulle scraps are now their favorite toys. Cats :-)

  7. That French toast looks awesome. Now I'm hungry.

I can so relate to our babies play toys. They stay because it's more important that they are happy than anyone else in the house. As it should be.

Have a terrific day and week ahead. Scritches to Angel. :)

  11. I love french toast but my hubby doesn't like it so I don't have it very often. He makes it for me on special occasions! :) Angel really loves that pole! Our house looks like a box factory because of all the boxes laying around for the cats.
