Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro on Monday

Welcome to another edition of the photo Scavenger Hunt and I Heart Macro!  Enjoy!

1) Less is More
Less hair means that you can see more of my face?  I got my hair cut on Thursday, and I thought that this would be a good comparison with last week's hunt prompt nostalgic.

2) Holiday Lights
I've already shown you a couple pictures of our tree, so I thought I'd take a picture of our new front walkway lights.  We don't have any outdoor outlets but wanted some sort of outdoor decoration.  These little guys are solar and will probably look radiant all summer.  For now, they usually die out by 9PM, and you can't see the candy canes unless you're standing right near them.  They came with different inserts so we'll keep them up all year round. Not a total loss as they do light the walkway pretty well when they've been fully charged and will look seasonal (up close) with the different inserts.

3) Ornaments
Jake and I got married 4 days after Christmas.  I wanted our reception favors to be something Christmas related, but it took a lot of searching to find something that I liked that was a price that I thought was acceptable ($1 per piece).  I finally settled on this set of ceramic ornaments (there are 3 designs total) that I lettered with our names and wedding date on the back.

4) Cup of Cheer
Here's one of the cups of my new Chai mix that I've had this past week.  Mugs are the one thing that Jake and I like to get on trips.  We got this one at the beginning of our Wisconsin Dells trip in June 2010.  I know that I've talked about House on the Rock here before, but if you haven't heard of it before, go check it out.

5) Nativity
My in-laws were planning to give us a nativity set for our wedding/first Christmas.  Then they won a set in a drawing so we got to pick which one we wanted.  This isn't a set that I would have picked out for myself, but it's very nicely done.

Please check out Ashley's blog to see what other people photographed for these themes this week!

Here's my photo for I Heart Macro.
This is an old piece that needed new photos.  It's available here.

  1. The new hair do is fabulous! You're such a tiny thing - shorter hair suits you better. And your hair seems nice and thick and shiny - You look great!

  3. Your haircut looks lovely and frames your face real nicely. About House on the Rock, that's STILL on my to-do list. Our son teased us last year by giving us an ornament from there to remind my husband to make reservations to go!
