Friday Feature: warm vacation

I picked this Friday Feature theme before we got the weather forecast for a nearly record-breaking cold weather day on Monday. It's more applicable than ever now. Jake and I are planning to take a vacation somewhere next month (still in the works), and the biggest criteria is that it has to be some place warmer than here. It won't necessarily be a tropical destination, but it will not be icy with single digit temperatures. I know that so many of us need a little break from that weather this time of year. Here's a little escape on the blog today. Enjoy.

Is anyone else taking a warm weather vacation this winter?

  1. Do you plan on going far or just a bit further South than WI? We aren't planning any vacations until about June when we have to go up to CT for a few days. But, things always change so you never know!

  2. O my goodness - I had a pair of those sandals. When I was young I always took a warm-weather vacay in February...then I lived in the Caribbean for a while - now I'm old and content where I am...

  3. Those shells are really valued here! You can buy them at the bead store and the larger ones cost $60+ each. I really wish I could find some of them at the beach!
That top photo is a gorgeous find - I look forward to when I have the car and can do some interesting time of day photography around here.

  4. Hooray for a vacation! I've always wanted to go to Savannah and see the houses, so that's a warmer option that wouldn't be too far.

Since we just got back from Europe, we're not planning anything. We might head out to California in the summer but that's probably it for 2014.

  6. I would like a vacation--any vacation! Even the snow would be OK! Since we live in a constant temperate rainy state! Nice picks!

  7. I'm with you on the warm getaway! We got the cold temps too. Did you get the snow too? We were under a state of emergency for 2 days and no roads around us were passable. It was awful! Now, it's pouring down rain!

    1. Yeah, we had a lot of snow in November and December. We haven't had much in January, but it's continued to be cold. When the temperatures do get above freezing, it rains...then refreezes. It's tiresome. I hope that the roads are better your way now! How awful.
