revisiting a favorite spot

If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you know that one of my favorite spots to walk in Milwaukee is through the VA grounds. The last time that I took pictures there before this excursion was December. Ridiculous, right? It was so great to be back there with my SLR. Enjoy.

This spot continues to be one of my favorite places in Milwaukee. Sometimes I feel silly photographing it over and over again, but I don't think that there is really anything wrong with that.

I love how you can see the front coming in behind the stadium.

I cannot believe that I had never photographed these bells before.

This is another one of those "why I love my neighborhood" shots that I took on the way home.

What is one of your favorite local spots to photograph?

  1. by my house, probably the beach. but my favorite spot to photograph is off our dock up at our lake house in the Adirondacks. I never tire of it!

  2. I love all those photos: the bells, the park, the buildings...but I especially love the last one: that house. Maybe it's just because I like the house itself, but it's gorgeous with all the stone. :) Awesome stuff!

  3. I love all your tree shots :) In southern Germany we have houses that look just like that one!
I love water, so my favourite spot would be the River Rhine. Haven't been there for ages though!

  4. That first shot of the black chain link fence is so cool! I never grow tired of photographing the flowers in my apartment's courtyards. The neighbors all think I'm really weird, but hey.

  5. Love the shot of the bells. I love taking photos down at the lake and at a local park by my house. I was thinking of starting to take photos of all the homes in Orillia that I really like.

  6. I guess my favorite local spot is the Clackamas and the Willamette Rivers. We love to go eat lunch where there join together, watching the birds, fishermen and boats; also the sun shinning off the river, when it does shine here!

  7. Nice photos! I really like the close up shots of the fence. I haven't really found a nice place to take pictures yet. Charlottesville is pretty old so I do like to walk around the downtown area and check out some old buildings. Going to Thomas Jefferson's home is also really pretty too.

  8. I love taking photos at the beach or in the forest. I love the architecture of that house! The chain link fence shot was pretty cool too!

  9. Wonderful photos, as always, Rose! I especially love the trees not-quite-ready-to-bud. The one with the flag seems appropriate given the tragedies of the past month. Beautiful.

  12. great looking house. The close-ups of the wire fence is really neat. You have so many nice looking buildings in your city. Nothing wrong with photographing them more than once. Something is drawing you there... {:-D

  15. Love your photo of the bells, but I also love the arched windows on that house. And I don't think there's anything wrong with going back to the same places to photograph them at all! There's a broken fence at the back edge of my yard that I keep taking photos of...and I think it looks different each time.
