in the works

I've been working with Grace from Dragon's Alley to design a custom stars and moon bracelet like this one.
After several e-mail exchanges, we finally settled on this set of beads.  There wasn't a set of Tohos, which are the beads that I normally use for this design, in the exact shade that she wanted.  But I think that these will still look amazing with the silver star and moon charms.  I love the varied finish.  I was worried that one set of beads would be too monotone, but this will be great.  I'll have more details on that later this month.

Most pieces in my shop are in stock, but I have a handful that I've sold in person and changed to made to order.  Some of the pieces are easy to work up again and have good listing photos.  However, others need a serious overhaul like this old challenge piece that I sold at the Iowa Arts Festival last summer.

I honestly don't even remember how I did the original construction.  I know that it was all with right angle weave.  Regardless, I don't have any more of the clear Czech glass and Swarovski buttons and am not interested in tracking down similar pieces.  So I'm going to completely overhaul it because I still love the concept.  While I was ordering the beads for Grace and a few other things last week, I got some supplies for a new right angle weave wedding piece.
The seed bead mix will be pretty similar to the original palette.

I have some other overhauls planned, but I'll save that for another time because I have a couple other things that I want to mention in this post.  I was recently inspired by this color combination.

I feel like I've been going in some random directions lately with reworking old designs and trying new color palettes like the pastels.  I want to keep making pieces that really fit with my shop.  This will definitely be one of them.
It'll have a design similar to this bracelet, although I'm not sure how I want to work the side fringe lately.

Finally, I had so much fun with my champagne delicas again for my design team piece that I kept them out for a couple more pieces.  I'll have more on those later this month.

  1. Can't wait to see my bracelet! It would seem that orange and red don't go together but I have seen pieces done in that combination and they are spectacular. Looking forward to what you will be doing with them.
